Everyone knows about PP materials, but they are not familiar with PPH and PPC plastic materials. There are still many people who are not aware of the differences between PP, PPH, and PPC materials. Now let's take a look together!
Everyone knows about PP materials, but they are not familiar with PPH and PPC plastic materials. There are still many people who are not aware of the differences between PP, PPH, and PPC materials. Now let's take a look together!
Firstly, there are two main grades of polypropylene, polypropylene homopolymer and polypropylene copolymer.
In terms of name, the homopolymer of polypropylene is PPH, which is a polymer of a single propylene monomer. The copolymer of PP is abbreviated as PPC, which is a copolymer of propylene monomer and ethylene monomer.
Copolymerization PP is a type of reaction that involves the polymerization of organic monomers with homopolymers. Copolymerization refers to the reaction in which two or more compounds are polymerized into one substance under certain conditions. According to the type of monomer, it can be divided into binary and ternary copolymerization, and based on the polymer, it can be divided into the different substructures can be divided into random copolymerization, block copolymerization, alternating copolymerization, graft copolymerization, and homopolymerization. PP is formed by polymerization of a single propylene monomer, with high crystallinity, good mechanical strength and heat resistance. Polypropylene copolymers are formed by copolymerization with a small amount of ethylene monomer during polymerization, which has high impact resistance strength.
The two have very similar properties, but the difference in appearance and performance is the difference between the two types.
Their common characteristics are:
1. The relative density is small, only 0.89-0.91, making it one of the lightest varieties of plastics.
2. Good mechanical properties, except for impact resistance, all other mechanical properties are better than polyethylene, and the molding and processing performance is good.
3. It has high heat resistance and can be continuously used at temperatures ranging from 110 to 120 ℃.
4. Good chemical properties, almost no water absorption, and does not react with the vast majority of chemicals.
5. The texture is pure and non-toxic.
6. Good electrical insulation.
7. The transparency of polypropylene products is better than that of high-density polyethylene products.
The difference between PPH and PPC is:
1. Copolymerized polypropylene is easier to process,
2. PPH has good rigidity, but poor impact resistance, especially low temperature impact resistance and poor creep resistance,
3. PPH is harder and more widely used. With excellent chemical resistance and the ability to connect and weld through hot melt, this material becomes the ideal plastic for chemical storage tanks and structures in corrosive environments. Compared to PPH, PPC has a softer material, but it is more durable because it has more
Good impact strength, even at low temperatures, has higher stress resistance and toughness.
4. PPH board has higher temperature resistance than PP board and can withstand the erosion of strong chemicals.
5. PPH is just one type of PP. PPH sheet has great advantages in strength, acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance and appearance. The appearance transparency of PPH is better.
