Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is known for its excellent chemical resistance, which includes a very low rate of water absorption. It is highly resistant to moist environments and does not absorb water readily. This characteristic makes UHMWPE suitable for applications where it is exposed to water or humid conditions, as it maintains its properties and dimensional stability without significant swelling or degradation over time. However, while the absorption rate is very low, it is not completely zero, meaning that under certain conditions and over extended periods of time, minimal water absorption might occur, but this is generally negligible for most practical applications.
